Some Thai journalists do not even know the situation of Thailand itself, but try hard to write evaluating the situation of Cambodia

 

October 23, 2025 — Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Strategic Consulting Council of the Government delegation and President of the Cambodian People's Party, issued a very direct opinion towards some Thai journalists who wrote articles evaluating the political and social situation in Cambodia without real understanding.

Samdech Techo raised that many journalists in Thailand do not yet understand the situation in their own country, but still try to write articles evaluating and interpreting the situation in neighboring countries like Cambodia. Samdech Techo's words show dissatisfaction with some foreign media that publishes information inconsistent with the truth and affects the image of Cambodia.

Samdech confirmed that the evaluation or expression of opinion about the situation in neighboring countries should have deep understanding, be based on correct sources of information, and respect international press laws. Publishing information without clear review can cause misunderstanding and affect the good relationship between neighboring countries.

Samdech Techo spoke additionally that Cambodia and Thailand have long-standing close histories in culture, economy, and society. Therefore, the media of both nations should cooperate in disseminating accurate information and perform professionally to maintain friendship and peace in the Southeast Asian region.

> Samdech emphasized that: “Maintaining peace and development in this region cannot be achieved if some people use the media as a tool to mislead or attack each other.”
