Cambodia Welcomes and Supports Malaysian Prime Minister’s Initiative for a Ceasefire Tonight

Phnom Penh — The Royal Government of Cambodia has expressed its warm welcome and full support for the initiative proposed by H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, calling for an immediate ceasefire starting tonight, aimed at easing tensions and creating favorable conditions for peace and stability in the region.

The ceasefire is expected to be closely monitored and strictly verified by the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to ensure that all concerned parties implement the agreement sincerely and responsibly. In addition, the United States has been invited to participate in supporting and observing the process as an international partner, in order to enhance credibility and transparency.

The Royal Government of Cambodia emphasized that its support for this initiative demonstrates Cambodia’s strong commitment to resolving issues through peaceful means, diplomacy, and dialogue, rather than through the use of force or violence, which could negatively impact civilian lives and regional stability.

Cambodia also called on all concerned parties to strictly respect the ceasefire, exercise restraint, and uphold a high sense of responsibility to preserve peace, prevent renewed clashes, and continue promoting peaceful negotiations under the ASEAN framework and international law.

At the same time, Cambodia highly appreciated the leadership role of Malaysia, as an ASEAN member, in initiating peaceful solutions and highlighting ASEAN unity in safeguarding peace, stability, and collective security in Southeast Asia.

The Royal Government of Cambodia reaffirmed that it will continue to closely cooperate with ASEAN and all international partners to support any efforts aimed at ending conflicts and building lasting peace for the people and the region as a whole.

ការឈប់បាញ់នេះ គ្រោងនឹងមានការតាមដាន និងត្រួតពិនិត្យយ៉ាងតឹងរឹង ដោយក្រុមត្រួតអ្នកសង្កេតការអាស៊ាន (ASEAN Observer Team – AOT) ដើម្បីធានាថា ភាគីពាក់ព័ន្ធទាំងអស់ អនុវត្តតាមកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងដោយស្មោះត្រង់ និងទទួលខុសត្រូវ។ លើសពីនេះទៅទៀត សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកក៏ត្រូវបានអញ្ជើញចូលរួមគាំទ្រ និងសង្កេតការណ៍ ក្នុងនាមជាដៃគូអន្តរជាតិ ដើម្បីបន្ថែមភាពជឿជាក់ និងភាពថ្លៃថ្នូរដល់ដំណើរការនេះផងដែរ។

រាជរដ្ឋាភិបាលកម្ពុជា បានបញ្ជាក់ថា ការគាំទ្រគំនិតផ្តួចផ្តើមនេះ បង្ហាញពីឆន្ទៈមុតមាំរបស់កម្ពុជា ក្នុងការដោះស្រាយបញ្ហាទាំងឡាយតាមមធ្យោបាយសន្តិភាព ការទូត និងការសន្ទនា ជំនួសការប្រើប្រាស់កម្លាំង ឬអំពើហិង្សា ដែលអាចបង្កផលប៉ះពាល់ដល់ជីវិតប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ និងស្ថិរភាពក្នុងតំបន់។

កម្ពុជាក៏បានអំពាវនាវដល់ភាគីពាក់ព័ន្ធទាំងអស់ ឲ្យគោរពការឈប់បាញ់នេះយ៉ាងម៉ឺងម៉ាត់ បង្ហាញការអត់ធ្មត់ និងទំនួលខុសត្រូវខ្ពស់ ដើម្បីរក្សាសន្តិភាព បញ្ចៀសការប៉ះទង្គិចឡើងវិញ និងបន្តជំរុញការចរចាដោយសន្តិវិធីក្រោមក្របខណ្ឌអាស៊ាន និងច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ។

ជាមួយគ្នានេះ កម្ពុជាបានវាយតម្លៃខ្ពស់ចំពោះតួនាទីដឹកនាំរបស់ប្រទេសម៉ាឡេស៊ី ក្នុងនាមជាសមាជិកអាស៊ាន ក្នុងការផ្តួចផ្តើមដំណោះស្រាយសន្តិភាព និងបង្ហាញពីសាមគ្គីភាពរបស់អាស៊ាន ក្នុងការថែរក្សាសន្តិភាព ស្ថិរភាព និងសន្តិសុខរួមនៅក្នុងតំបន់អាស៊ីអាគ្នេយ៍។
